He uses verbal dialogue and quiet meditative techniques to inspire deep exploration into ways each person can exercise free will, overcome self-limiting fears and addictions, make healthy action decisions and explore spiritual possibilities. He has earned a Doctor of Addictive Disorders (Dr.AD), a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and graduate degrees in English and Journalism. He has trained as Vipassana mindfulness meditation facilitator with Vipassana Support International and holds a Master Hypnotherapist certificate. His books, Life After Rehab and The Thirsty Addict Papers: Spiritual Psychology for Counselors, are Amazon best-sellers. He has served on the board of directors of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and currently develops psychotherapy curriculum for community counseling centers. He is an active member of Toastmasters’ International, the charitable Seva Foundation and the Philemon Foundation. He lives in Dana Point, where he works with Rhodesian Ridgeback show dogs in therapeutic environments.
